Client, REPower global launch of product
July 1, 2009 - REPower Energy’s global launch changes how it’s customer pay for their electricity.
Texas-based REPower Energy launched it’s web site today after months of ramping up an aggressive marketing and advertising campaign. Targeting a wide audience, REPower hopes to change how people view and ultimately pay for their electricity. The Pay-As-You-Go model puts the customer in charge with no deposits, monthly bills, credit checks, hidden fees or commitments. You pay when and what amount you want every month.
Benefits extend to property owners as well as tenants. With this concept, owners have no connect/disconnect fees, achieve same day move ins, higher energy efficiency and lower defaults if a new resident cannot get electricity when they move in. Monitoring your monthly power output is as simple as reading the propriety CIU (Customer Information Unit) located in your home, usually where your thermostat was located.
REPower Energy contacted ummhumm to provide branding and marketing solutions as they prepared to unveil their product and services. In addition to printed collateral that included a brochure, rack card and event poster, ummhumm designed, programmed and implemented a new web site.

Client, Claudia Villarreal launches her children’s book, “The Alphabet Thief Who Stole the Vowels”
June 15, 2009 - Claudia Villarreal publishes her first children’s book, “The Alphabet Thief Who Stole the Vowels”.
Elementary teacher and now author, Claudia Villarreal has completed her first children’s book, “The Alphabet Thief Who Stole the Vowels”. Illustrated by Michael Koch, Villarreal’s book is full of charm, humor and innocence in the style of Dr. Suess.
Written for ages 4-8, the approachable antagonist, the Alphabet Thief, hatches a plan to entice and capture all the vowels and whisk them away to a land far more enchanted. A land where flowers grow tall and oceans flow blue. Back home, the residents quickly realize how lost their word is without A, E, I, O and U. Words like cat, fat and bat become ct, ft, bt and tht for that.
With the vowels missing their world, too, the Alphabet Thief attempts to convince them to stay by offering riches and access to all his land. The vowels assure him they are important and that both words and the people that use them are missing the vowels terribly. Escaping the Alphabet Thief and returning to their home, the vowels show their importance to everyone, you see. They are used to form words like you and like me.
Villarreal cadence and story-telling sense are not often seen in first-time authors. She captures the Alphabet Thief’s naivety with a child-like perspective, resolving her story with a thoughtful and important message.
“I wouldn’t know the first thing about putting this book together,” states Villarreal. “Thanks to ummhumm for going above and beyond.”
Bringing 20 years of publishing experience to the project, ummhumm was able to create and produce a product that will launch The Alphabet Thief into the homes and hearts of children and parents around the world.
“The Alphabet Thief Who Stole the Vowels”, is for sale on eBay, or Chegg.
